UBC's Scandinavian and Nordic Cultural Association  is doing a small celebration of St. Lucia Day by performing a small Lucia train, and providing a few refreshments (hopefully some julmust, mulled 'wine', saffron buns and gingersnaps).

Please come enjoy some Swedish Christmas & Lucia carols sung by our small amateur choir.

Doors at 4pm, music at 4:30pm for about half an hour.

Thanks for the plug, Tina. The Lucia celebration is done throughout Scandinavia, and brings light and warmth to people's hearts in the darkness of winter. I made a little blurb about it here for SNCA in 2005: http://www3.telus.net/artfulmagpie/

Wikipedia's Lucia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Lucy%27s_Day

If anyone in Vancouver is reading this, we'd love for you to come to our little club's celebration. The whole thing from start to finish is under an hour, starting at 4pm.

And it's FREE!

Hope to see you there!

I hope it turned out great! :D Sounds like so much fun. Maybe next year we will be there, but I hope we're in Mexico!
