Videos of Cook Island Dancing- "The Real Thing!""

Funny we found the coconut today, because I just put up my photos from Rarotonga and Aitutaki on my PhotoZ Blog and then came across this Raro Website http://www.rarolens.com/p/other-subjects.html

On my blog I was mentioning if you want to see the "true" Polynesian Dancing
 then the Cook Islands are where you got to go.
I didn't have a video camera back then so I really couldn't show people, but now here...here they have shared and you can all see how fantastic they are.

I would love to take my girl here for 6 months and learn how to dance and to drum like they do, it's so beautiful!

This kapa rima (action song) from the dancers on the outer island of Mangaia earned the team a B grade. http://www.rarolens.com - The dancers from Pukapuka are always crowd favourites at the constitution culture competition (Te Maeva Nui) on Rarotonga, Cook Islands. They're innovative and cheeky and great fun to watch. This video shows excerpts from the kapa rima (action song) section. It was awarded a B grade. http://www.rarolens.com - The golden oldies dancers put on a great performance and showed the youngsters that they still know a thing or two about moving at the 20011 Dancer of the Year competition in Rarotonga, Cook Islands. The contest was held at Hidie's Bar in Avarua in April 2011. www.rarolens.com - Nikao village dancers hold a dress rehearsal for their items in the 2009 Maeva Nui cultural dance competition. Nikao came first in the competition. Island night show by E Matike dance troupe at Highland Paradise, Rarotonga, Cook Islands.
